Thingshare™ (thngshr™ or TS) was an initiative for a school project at Hult Business School.Thingshare™ is a platform that allows users to rent or lend household, hobby, sports, and leisure items that are not used frequently by their owner. Recent studies show that there are 80 million power drills in America that are used on average for a total of 13 minutes (New York Times, 2013). Excessive production and purchasing of such goods is causing significant damage to the environment. Thngshr is designed to become an innovative and convenient platform for sharing items that fulfills three primary missions:
1. Reduce the carbon footprint and contribute towards a better environment.
2. Create friendly neighborhood communities through a commitment to using shared assets.
3. Allow users to earn and save money by sharing things with each other instead of buying them.
Thngshr aims to establish the market of sharing household items and other underused items. The target is to reach 487K active users after the first year of our Beta test.
